Licensing Rights Managed Photographs

All images Franzfoto.com are copyrighted.  D. Robert & Lorri Franz licenses the right to use their photographic images. We provide prompt research and delivery, based on each client’s request. Our prices are based on industry guidelines. Prices can vary based on the usage requested, the number of photos to be used, size and press run. Our online Image Archive of over 8000 photos can be searched via our extensive database powered by Photoshelter.  Image usage can be licensed online allowing photos to be purchased and downloaded instantly.  Submissions can also be delivered via lightbox,  digital form by FTP, uploading from the website, downloaded by a registered user, or shipped on either a  CD or DVD.  Our image files include digital captures from high-resolution Canon EOS series cameras, as well scans from  film-based imagery in 35mm format originals. Images are saved and viewed on the website in the Adobe RGB colorspace which is optimized for print and publication. Images may not look as vibrant or contrasty as the final printed product on your monitor. We can still deliver original 35mm transparencies by request from our  extensive 200,000 image library.

All of the photographs on this site are available for use in print, personal use, web, editorial, advertising and other applications. In the past 24 years I’ve published nearly ten thousand photographs and have been featured on several hundred magazine covers. My images are published by hundreds of organizations, publishing companies and magazines. I’ve also worked with many well known conservation groups.

There are two options for licensing images:

Personal Use License

Electronic Personal Use licenses are appropriate for images you’d like for your personal use, which may include, but is not limited to, using the image for at-home printing, screensaver slideshows, wedding announcements, online personal profiles, artist reference, etc. A Personal Use license prohibits the buyer from using the image for anything but strictly personal or limited educational use (e.g. school projects or single-classroom education

Rights-managed Licensing

You can obtain a price quote and pay to license one or more photographs at any time by clicking on the thumbnail of the photograph, and then on the following page (with the “big picture”) click on “Buy Print/License.” Choose your license type using the drop down menus, and complete your payment using any credit card via PayPal. Payment and delivery is automated, and you don’t need to have a PayPal account. Contact me with any questions or problems.

If you prefer you can contact me and we can discuss your licensing needs, and I can deliver the file(s) directly to you or provide a password for you to download full resolution images. Sales that are negotiated on a more traditional person to person basis can be paid for via invoice.

Searching for a Photo?

You can search for images in several ways: For stock images or fine art photo prints it’s easiest to browse the Franzfoto Galleries.  If you’re not finding what you’re looking for you can enter keywords in the search box (upper right) to explore the entire gallery photo collection. An Advanced Search option is also available to help you locate specific subjects, locations or image names.

Custom searches of our complete stock photo archive (350,000+ images) are also available.  Contact us with your image needs and we’ll be happy to post a custom selection for you, usually within 24 hours.

What is “My Lightbox”?

The Lightbox is for organizing and sharing your personal collection of selected photos. As you browse through images you can add any photo to your lightbox by clicking the “Add to Lightbox” button above any full size image preview or below any thumbnail image. You can buy prints or merchandise of any photo in your lightbox by clicking on the specific image and then selecting the “Buy” button to start your ordering process.
